Baby welcome letter from the White House

We recently have a baby boom in the family. A niece and grand-niece was just born days apart this month! When my son was born, I learned that we can get a welcome letter from the president. I requested one by fax and it didn’t take long to receive it. It’s pretty neat and I’m saving it in his scrapbook. It’s a good historical memento.

Here is how to request one:

1. You must be a citizen of the United States to request one.

2. The request must be made after your baby is born and before he/she turns one. It takes 6 weeks to process the request.

3. Include your baby’s name, address, date of birth (month, day, year), as well as your name and phone number.

4. Send your request by fax at (202) 395-1232 or by mail to:

  1. How cool! Maybe I should suggest that to our newly elected President here in Singapore.

Btw, thanks for dropping by my blog mummumstheword.wordpress.com. It’s great how technology connects us new parents halfway across the world.

  2. Wow – how lovely – people here have to wait till they turn 100 to get a message from the head of state!
